Here's a little information about me.

Giving Away Hair...

I have lived in south Georgia for twenty years.  Before that I lived in middle Georgia for almost nine years.  I was born in north Georgia fifty-... uh ... a long time ago ... and I think I have the credentials to say that Georgia is a great place to live!  At least it has been for my family and me.

(Glowing adjectives follow.)  I have been married to my fantastic husband since 1973 and we have two wonderful grown children, a daughter and a son.  Our beautiful daughter and her handsome husband presented us with our first grandchild September 6, 2008.  Our handsome son is a junior in college.  In the mid- '80's I became a born-again Christian.  Best decision of my life.  Check out my site to read more about that ... and other stuff, too!

I wore my hair shortish for about 30 years but recently donated my hair, for the second time, to an organization called "Locks of Love."  They make wigs for financially disadvantaged children who have lost their hair, for whatever reason, although many of their clients are children who have alopecia areata, a condition involving permanent hair loss.  That can be awfully traumatic for both the children and the adults who love them.  I picked up on the idea of donating my tresses after my daughter heard about it before her wedding in 2004 and decided that she would donate her ponytail...so in May of that year, I had my hair cut for her wedding in June, then had it cut in August, 2006, and sent it to Locks of Love.  It was such a gratifying experience that I let it grow and had it cut in March, 2008, and donated it again.  However, my husband says it's time for a change now!  I agree, but it surely is a great (and free!) way to let someone know you care.  Check out Locks of Love at www.locksoflove.com
