   To Catch a Fallen Star

My first book, To Catch a Fallen Star, was published April 18, 2008, by Xulon Press, became available for purchase  the next month, and has really changed my life.  It came about sort of all of a sudden.  One day I felt that God was telling me to sit down at my computer because there was a story to tell.  It's a fictional story, but it's about a very real fact...that Jesus Christ loves us more than we can know here on earth...so much so that he gave His life to save ours.  Our eternal life.

The book is about a woman who was afraid to fly, and...well, here's what the info section on the back of the book says:

Holly Monroe has acrophobia.  The thought of flying sends her into a panic, but she's had enough, so today she's setting out alone to conquer that fear as she steps onto a 767 bound for Amsterdam where she will enjoy a sight she has dreamed of since childhood:  fields of tulips in bloom.

She is quite nervous as she boards the plane, and to complicate matters her favorite actor, Chris Lapp, boards and takes a seat...beside Holly!  As she soon realizes Chris has troubles of his own, and they form a friendship that sees them through some harrowing times, but there's something about her that puzzles him.  She's unlike anyone he's ever met and it's getting under his skin.  What is it about this plain woman...or "plane" woman...that makes him question his eternity?

He is so intrigued by her that he asks to meet her family.  They invite him to spend time with them in their small Georgia town, and he gladly accepts their invitation only to come face to face with a dangerous storm, a daunting decision, and a delightful woman.

As a result of several challenging events, both Holly and Chris discover that God is true to His Word and more faithful than either could have imagined.

1 Corinthians 1:27--"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong."  This is from ONE of my favorite versions of the Bible, the New American Standard Bible.  If you knew me, after reading "To Catch a Fallen Star," you'd agree wholeheartedly with this verse!  Sometimes I can be weak AND foolish!  However, this is another verse that covers at least the weak part:  2 Corinthians 12:10--"Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak then I am strong."
